A little about us

Soon after we met we began to see similarities in how we were working and training horses and people. Hanna's desire to see every horse become as playful and adventurous as they can fit brilliantly with Matt's focus on how important the detail of each movement is to your horse. We started to see great results as we taught and worked horses together.

We each spent years travelling the world to seek out and train with some of the best horseman, competitors and trainers. We are both passionate about finding the best professionals we can and learning from them. There is value in seeking out different approaches and not staying in one church. We have both been fortunate to spend extended periods of time working for and training with olympic coaches, natural horseman, classical riders, liberty performers, biomechanics experts and practitioners focusing on science based approaches to behaviour.

We brought that training back to the UK and opened our first training barn in Hertfordshire where we spent years experimenting and blending our two methods to create an approach that has helped over 1000 horse and rider combinations. In 2023 we moved to Oxfordshire and opened a new barn where our methods are taught as in person courses and online programmes.

When you come to train, you work with both of us, sometimes at the same time, sometimes moving between us. It's the same for your horse. Our aim is to ensure you and your horse work with which ever one of us is best place to help you move forwards at each stage of your journey.

Hanna

If Hanna could give one gift to every rider it would be to an ability to see, feel and act in a way that helps their horses in the moment that they need it most.

Hanna has spent her life with horses—riding since childhood often with only access to the tricky ones.

She originally set out to event, but found herself questioning the methods available to her. She wanted to find a way they could do it together, that it felt as good for rider as it did for horse. That question led her into the world of horsemanship, behaviour, and truly understanding how horses think and learn. She has been fortunate to learn & work with some of the world’s best horseman & now shares her own version of the lessons she has learnt from these masters & continues to learn from the horses.

Hanna’s work focuses on helping horses build true confidence, and develop the physical and emotional balance needed to thrive.

Matt

Matt has spent the last 20 years working in movement and theatre—directing, performing, and creating shows around the world. His projects have included large-scale work like the London Olympic Games and productions with the National Theatre in London and the National Theatre of France. Alongside that, he’s taught at universities internationally, sharing his passion for how the body tells stories without words.

When the Covid pandemic brought the theatre world to a halt, Hanna expanded the training barn, and Matt stepped in to help with the horses. What began as a temporary shift quickly turned into something more—clients started booking in specifically to work with him, and soon he and Hanna were running the barn together, co-teaching and co-creating the programme they now offer.

Matt brings a unique lens to horsemanship. He’s trained with some of the world’s leading horsemen—Monty Roberts, Buck Brannaman, Frederic Pignon, and Magali Delgado—but it’s his background in movement that gives him an unusual edge. Whether working with riders, athletes, or actors, he kept seeing how much people were doing with their bodies without knowing it. That insight has become the heart of his work: helping horses and riders connect to their bodies, move with awareness, and build partnerships rooted in clarity and feel.
